Poll: Disagreement on Practice

How would you handle important events for friends and family with which you disagree with the concept or correctness of the ceremony? Does it make a difference if the event is important to a child or an adult? Perhaps you even find the event sinful. Specific examples or general rules are welcome.

Here are some potential situations:

  • Infant’s baptism for a credobaptist (does it make a difference whether it is Reform, Lutheran, or other?)
  • "Second" baptism for a paedobaptist
  • First Communion for someone who isn’t Catholic
  • Woman’s ordination for a complimentarian
  • A divorced person’s wedding while their first spouse is still alive
